Steven R. Smith recently performed an exclusive live set for WFMU (pre-recorded without overdubs, etc) from his home studio in Los Angeles. The 40+ minute performance kicks off with the first track from the upcoming Ulaan Khol release, II.

Ulaan Khol's II, released December 2, 2008, is the second installment of his trilogy known as 'Ceremony.' Following the cryptic first installment, II shines with hazy, rolling atmospheric works that drift and shift with ease. Riding a crumbling riff into oblivion, Ulaan Khol's II emanates with the gleam of pure white light.

Donovan Quinn & the 13th Month are making several appearances over the course of the fest; read on to find out when & where. For the east coast shows, the 13th Month consists of DQ (guitar, voice), Nick Marcantonio (bass) and Pete Nolan (the drums). Jason Quever will be back behind the kit for the band's headlining homecoming gig in early November -
